Evangelists in Orissa: Converting against all odds

Orissa: VHP turns violent and burns Churches. Hmm! ok. There is a history to Orissa-Christianity-Tribals.
"The VHP launched its violent onslaught claiming it wants to stop conversions to Christianity, accusing Churches of proselytising." - AsiaNews.IT
(Fact file of conversions happening since 200 years among Tribals of Orissa is given below)

So they mean there were no conversion attempts? Is it a false claim by VHP? They DO NOT Convert Hindus and Tribals to Christianity? What other agenda do their missionaries have?

On Christmas Day it (VHP) celebrated for instance the “return” (barbaratan or ‘coming home’) to Hinduism of 82 families or 187 Christians, 103 men and 84 women, at a ceremony in the village of Chikita in Sundergarth District (Orissa) that included receiving images of Hindu divinities.
82 families or 187 Christians were Hindus earlier! They accept that fact don't they? Now the same converts are willingly coming back to Hindu fold. Why? Why couldn't they have them say NO to VHP for re-conversion? Even this very AsiaNews website has written a lot about conversion activities by their missionaries. Pope has only repeated his church's intention this year too just as he did last year. I had also said in my earlier blog that if these missionaries continue to convert tribal people in India they can expect retaliations by VHP. After all tribals are ignorant victims of this evangelist missionaries.

For the Church, Asia is the continent of the future, not only in terms of personnel, but also as a missionary field. There is a lot of Asia in the Church's future: Benedict XVI.
Quite naturally they want the VHP be banned. By playing it 'innocent' these missionaries cannot go too far. It is all over the internet to prove what they come into India for. They have no other aim in life than to convert entire world into Christianity whatever it takes.

Proof: Read this speech delivered by none other than the Pope at the Vatican City this year. If they are there converting, don't they anticipate much ahead, attacks by Sangh Parivar? How many times this has been happening to them? Why are they allowing it to happen if they claim themselves to be a "peaceful religion"? Their idea is to allow VHP to attack as much as they can and to take mileage out of it by painting a "Hindu Terrorist" image of Sangh Parivar / VHP. Their 'innocence' has its hidden agenda. Let the world know it.

“A disciple of Jesus Christ – he continues -must also be a missionary”, but “today is it still permissible to “evangelize”? Instead should not all of the world’s religions and concepts not simply seek to peacefully coexist and together try to do their best for humanity each in their own way?" This is a question the Pope asks and answers himself thus: "Well, it is beyond discussion that we must coexist and cooperate in tolerance and reciprocal respect. The Catholic Church is energetically committed to this”. But “this desire for dialogue and collaboration perhaps means at the time means that we can no longer transmit the message of Jesus Christ, no longer put forward to mankind and the world this call and the hope that is derived from it? Those who recognise a great truth, those who have found great joy, must transmit it; they cannot simply keep it to themselves”. And “in order for this to happen, history needs the announcement of the Good News to all peoples and all men”, because “through our encounter with Jesus Christ and his saints, through our encounter with God, the balance of humanity is replenished in the force of good, without which all of programmes of social order never become a reality, but – in the face of other powerful pressures from interests contrary to peace and justice – they remain simply abstract theories”. - AsiaNews.IT - Vatican Pope says the Church is open to dialogue but cannot renounce spreading the Gospel.

Innocents, illiterates are their target. If they are concerned about the tribal health and welfare, why don't they work 365/24/7 with the governments and corporations and get them justice, instead? Why do they fool others to believe that Jesus is their only way? In what way have they relieved the converts of their poverty? Maybe they keep paying them monthly allowances to remain Christians? Why cant they just pressurise the governments to implement healthy schemes for them and educate them to become enlightened citizens? Why should they do it ONLY with Jesus? Won't Jesus be happy if you don't have them convert to Christianity for the whole world should be his sons and daughters? Even Jesus doesn't know that there is a world class 'religion' called Hindu? Jesus would surely not be as foolish as the evangelists. He would rather accept all Gods as his God.

Explore the root cause of all these violences. Get to the bottom of this very issue which has been there for ever. If they stop converting non Christians then VHP and Sangh Parivar will have nothing to fight against them. Can they do it RIGHT NOW?

Lastly, I must say, that VHP and its fiery outfits must not resort to violence even as a retaliation. They must know that these evangelists are already well prepared to write to the whole world that they are being attacked "for no reason"!!!!! VHP can rather open up national dialogue with evangelists challenging them to prove they are not into conversions, like how it was initiated some years ago during Ayodhya aftermath. Taking it in their own hands and burning and arsons will not take them anywhere. The Christian world will easily brand VHP as Hindu Terrorists, as easy as that. Try calling evangelists as "Christian Psychological Terrorists" because they terrorise the minds of poor intellects by their own perverted interpretations of our Vedas to the illiterates. Work Easily Done.

I finished the above writing sometime this afternoon, but my mind never stopped the quest for truth (not for the fear of being wrong in what I believed) and I am posting this TRUTH, reading nonstop the document of 236 pages (its nearly 2:30am now,) about the General Baptist of England who set their foot as missionaries nearly 200 years ago in Orissa. They learned the language of the tribals, they systematically shattered the beliefs of the tribals to convert them to Christianity. Every account of their entire psychological methods of conversion in its raw terms are very clearly narrated (even day to day events at times) by one Otis Robinson sometime in the year 1964. There could have been other Christian denominations who worked along with the General Baptists at that time, but even to this day their success rate must have been slow though they haven't lost their heart in their mission to convert the poor innocent tribals who will consider you as Lord if you are compassionate. The compassion is good but purpose is venomous by the Christians who have even today setup their organizations in Orissa. After all everything they do (as openly claimed in the book) to the tribals will only lead to converting them through brain-washing.

London Queen for Indian KinderGarten Kids!

Indian children learn English History, English Values, England Queen and London Bridge right from Kindergarten. All our poems, literature for the kids are derived or modified from English literatures. Every character in the story is English. This has not changed ever since the British nailed into our great grandfathers' brains that whatever is English is high above anything Indian. Those veterans still hold the Britishers in high esteem for their governance and education. I feel ashamed when my grandfather feels so. I feel ashamed that we are not proud of whatever we are. I have hated to have learned about the British Queen and London Bridge in my school poems ever since I started to love my country. But that love did not come from this education. It came from my upbringing and from being associated with various groups at an young age. I should talk about myself here only to believe that there are millions of Indians who have also felt the same but are as helpless as I am now. But to think there are others too with us is good to know. I use this media to attempt at what I think can change the way we educate our children in India.

I am seriously looking for creative poets from India to come up with Poems for school kids below 5th standard, which can replace the British left overs that has been there ever since my great grandfather was in school.

The purpose of this is to make our children imbibe values of India and not about England Queen or London Bridge or whatever. Our kids are made to learn these only because we never could come up with poems as good and as simple as them. Don't we have such creative minds in India? Please don't ask me why I am not trying to do this myself. I accept my inability to do it. But with a group, with other intelligent minds, I can definitely attempt something.

Let our children learn to be patriotic right from the school. What needs to go into their books is NOT Pooh The Bear or the Mickey Mouses. They need what they can relate to in their life around them. Only in India we place Mother, Father and Guru (Aachaarya) in a very high esteem in that order. If we do not provide these values at their tender age, they grow up without them. Today the TV shows for children no more carry any such great values we had when we were children. Those chinese cartoons, disney movies are good to watch but not good in values for OUR children. None of the events that these movies show can be related to life here in India. Everything our kids observe and learn becomes guided and taught by the western media. They can only love English!

Our governments do not attempt to do this. But you and me can make them do only if we are equipped to show them an alternative. In this regard, I request you to make an attempt to write poetry for children which can be way better than what we have inherited from the Britishers.

I propose to do it this way:

*** If you have a Blog or Webpage that already has indigenously Indian Poems for Children provide me the link
*** If you already have written some, send them to me by email
*** If someone you know is talented you can help them upload the poems
*** Let you know that your poems must carry values from our Indian culture and should always portray only about India and what we see around here in our daily life
*** This is nothing about religion. Kids must learn to respect all religions. They should never learn about Castes. They must never under-estimate any other human being (many movies talk low of blind people or limps goes unnoticed)
*** Our children should know history of our land before they even get to know history of England or USA.

Please write your comments. I greatly appreciate it.

The Truth that is....

For you and me, the Hindu way of life (it was never a religion) existed even longer than 10 thousand years before Christ was even created. Any other man made religion of the world can only be a segment of Hindu philosophy since to fathom the vastness and depth of Hindu philosophy it would take every other religion to first master their own first. When that cannot happen, none of them can ever even compare Hindu to any other religion, simply because of its practical truths (not what God supposed to have "said" as in case of Mohammad or Christ) are derived directly from the life of humans, wealth of the universe, metaphysical dimensions of the world and beyond. And still, Hindu philosophy is not about GOD its about the Mystery of this Universe we live in and how us humans relate and blend with it.

So, I read these articles, one forwarded by a good friend of mine, and I read further into the New Advent of Christianity. Now do not laugh reading this:
The pessimism of Schopenhauer and his school is indeed very like the pessimism of Buddhism and of the Vedanta system of philosophy, and seems to have been derived from one of these sources. But apart from this unimportant line of modern speculation, and from the abortive theosophic movement of more recent times, one finds no trace of Hindu influence on Western civilization. We have nothing to learn from India that makes for higher culture. On the other hand, India has much of value to learn from Christian civilization.

Hinduism in its narrower sense, is the conglomeration of religious beliefs and practices existing in India that have grown out of ancient Brahminism, and which stand in sharp contrast to orthodox, traditional Brahminism today. Hinduism is the popular, distorted, corrupted side of Brahminism. In its broad sense, it comprises those phases of religous, social, and intellectual life that are generally recognized in India today as the legitimate outgrowth of ancient Brahmin institutions, and hence are tolerated by the Brahmin priests as compatible with Brahmin traditions. Far from being a uniform system of worship, Hinduism, in this large sense, comprises, besides orthodox Brahminism...........................

Do they even understand what is Brahminism is? They dare to twist essence of other religions just to project their own as "valid"!

While trying to research their Christian past and studies there on, the Catholic Encyclopedia, tries to show its deliberate known ignorance to the world by putting down every other belief system below Christianity. Well this anyways can never make a Truth as unTruth. The ego is very evident from the above research, probably which is why, the missionaries work overtime to see to that the ignorants convert before they learn the truth about Christianity (or for that matter even Islam. Only these two religions are out there to convert people.)

There's another researcher, for now I am pleased to read this only because it opens up another angle in the debate over the very existence of Jesus Christ. The events depicted in sequence leads to the logical conclusion that Jesus Christ never was born, never walked on earth. He was created by King Constantine with good intentions of stopping holy wars in the world. This study says:
Christianity is an adaptation of Mithraism welded with the Druidic principles of the Culdees, some Egyptian elements (the pre-Christian Book of Revelation was originally called The Mysteries of Osiris and Isis), Greek philosophy and various aspects of Hinduism.
..Constantine returned to the gathering to discover that the presbyters had not agreed on a new deity but had balloted down to a shortlist of five prospects: Caesar, Krishna, Mithra, Horus and Zeus (Historia Ecclesiastica, Eusebius, c. 325). Constantine was the ruling spirit at Nicaea and he ultimately decided upon a new god for them. To involve British factions, he ruled that the name of the great Druid god, Hesus, be joined with the Eastern Saviour-god, Krishna (Krishna is Sanskrit for Christ), and thus Hesus Krishna would be the official name of the new Roman god. A vote was taken and it was with a majority show of hands (161 votes to 157) that both divinities became one God. Following longstanding heathen custom, Constantine used the official gathering and the Roman apotheosis decree to legally deify two deities as one, and did so by democratic consent. A new god was proclaimed and "officially" ratified by Constantine (Acta Concilii Nicaeni, 1618). That purely political act of deification effectively and legally placed Hesus and Krishna among the Roman gods as one individual composite. That abstraction lent Earthly existence to amalgamated doctrines for the Empire's new religion; and because there was no letter "J" in alphabets until around the ninth century, the name subsequently evolved into "Jesus Christ".
If you are interested in seeking truth, read through the two links.

Target: Hindu

Targeting Hindus had started several centuries ago. Despite this psychological illegal attempts to disseminate Hindu, it has not been possible for any of them to do so. It is a natural character of Hindu to revive and protect itself in various forms from any kind of onslaughts.

In 1871, the Anglican diocese in Georgetown gave this explanation of the difficulty in converting the Indian population:

"He (the Indian) has more pride of race; he has a keener intellect and has that pride of country and of race which prevents him from becoming a convert to any of the new doctrines preached to him."

[Asian’s youth are feeling the consequences of today’s globalised world, they are in the midst of an identity crises and they risk becoming slaves to materialism and a system where values have been overturned; it is the Churches duty to help them understand the meaning of Christ’s Sacrifice and Resurrection, this discovery alone can give true meaning to their lives. This is the content of an interview given to AsiaNews by Fr. VM Thomas, Executive Director, Don Bosco Institute DBI, in the north eastern state of Guwahati....... The article continues to say "He invites the Church to rapidly intervene: we need to be Christ to today’s youth; only by encountering Him can their lives be filled with purpose."

Read about the clear intentions of the Vatican Pope in his message for the 2007 World Mission Day

[Thirdly, the Pope stressed that the mission cannot be reduced to some kind of humanitarian voluntary service or social work. Often the fight against hunger and injustice overshadows the task of proclaiming Christ and the specifically Christian quality of the missionary service, sometimes done in the name of a given religious relativism based on the view that “after all, all religions are the same.”

By contrast, for the Pontiff proclaiming Christ must be done to all men of religion to fulfill their quest and to every man so that his culture and life may be purified and improved.]

But further down the links, I find this in contrast to the Pope's message:

“belief and freedom always go together. There can be no coercion in religion: no one can be forced to believe, neither can anyone who wishes to believe be prevented from doing so”. In this light the message recalls the words of Benedict XVI to a group of ambassadors, including the Indian ambassador:… “Peace is rooted in respect for religious freedom, which is a fundamental and primordial aspect of the freedom of conscience of individuals and of the freedom of peoples” (18 May 2006).

One in million reading I picked to look up what other religions think about Hindu. It is not surprising to believe that Hindu is a easy target basically because it doesn't have a supreme spiritual leader like other religions. There is no Religious Authority..no single God...no single Book that clearly defines Hinduism. Some think Hinduism contradicts itself and people who follow this 'religion' believe in false Gods!

But what would have made this 'religion' as strong as how this Anglican diocese thinks? Why is it difficult for other religions to kill Hinduism? Why there is relentless effort to convert Hindus to either Christians or Muslims? Why isnt Buddhism or Jainism a target? What are these large religions of the world afraid of about Hindu?

We should also know, that there are hidden agendas in pushing 'Liberal' culture into India in more ways than one. Say a day like 'Valentines Day' is a social attack on a culture. This is a soft attack on the mindset of the young who do not see the hidden agendas.

Couple of years ago I happened to watch a program which was half way probably, on Discovery Channel. They show a white man with a Indian guy with him going to a village and meeting a old man there. No formal introductions, but he drives straight to the point (translated to local language with help of the Indian friend) that the old man (wearing thick glasses) can start to see the world clearly if this white man 'requests' Jesus to 'help' him out. I got curious naturally. I knew where he was getting at. It didn't take me much to realize the usual game of playing on the minds of the innocents is the trick done only by the missionaries but none other. To my surprise, to prove the old man (I am sure he wasn't even getting any point the white was making) grabbed two handful of mud from the ground and slowly dropped it over his own closed eyes. When done, he softly rubbed it on his eyes without hurting. He opens his eyes and looks at the old man...jumps and acts crazyily happy about being able to see more....and asks the old man to do the same. Old man is made to repeat this act without thick glasses. At the end, there is no reaction as I see from the old man...he just stands with no expression (I could imagine his mind was just blank.) This white screams ...literally.....to Lord! Thanks him for giving eyes to the old man. Hugs the old man and tells him, if he believes in Jesus as the only Lord, he will be able to get more from Him. At this point, I was very clear what it was all about. I pitied our innocent villagers living in this condition since many thousands of years...being victims of spiritual invasions... even before they realize they would have already been converted!!! And the count of converts sent to Vatican City :) Great!

Let me say this before I have something to ask:

--Hindus do not convert.
--Hindus believe in worshipping the Almighty in any form, in any ritual, in any order, in any practice chosen by an individual...as long as they believe God is One.
--Hindus do not even have the concept of Conversion, simply because they believe all God is the same and so respects all other religions and spiritual viewpoints.
--Hindus do not claim as the Supreme religion on this earth.
--Even those who, as Chritianity or Islam claims, have no Gods (worshipping trees/rocks) are also Hindus as per its concept.

[I certainly should add this link for anyone who would want to understand the term Hindu from someone I greatly admire for his talent in presenting FACTS convincingly with very practical analysis. Please read "The Hindu Concept of God" by Mr. Gurudev (that's his name not as he is addressed :D)]

If this is what a Hindu is, then why don't the Christians and Muslims let them have their way of worship as it is? If God were to have given them only Jesus as saviour or Mohammad as their prophet, God would never have created a WAY OF LIFE called Hindu in India.

Just leave Hindus to their own practices and beliefs. If the Missionaries intend to Serve the Humans in various ways, DO IT WITHOUT CONVERTING THEM. Do your work of humanity, without advertising about Jesus. Never even talk about your Faith and Belief to a human suffering from a disease or poverty or whatever. He doesn't need your God, he just needs a LIFE to live.

Even after centuries, Indian Life has been Hindu life...without compromising on its deep rooted concept of Humanism. If any other religion tries to ignore this fact and try to put down the values of Hindu, is only showing off its ignorance of Mind of God. Going by that, their God will bring sense to them before they go too far.

It's not easy to understand the Hindu philosophy. It takes one to undergo half of his life to even understand the vastness of this faith. So, just leave Hindus alone. There need to be no more FACTS to prove to the world that these missionaries from Christianity and Islam are out here only with the hidden intention of CONVERTING people with their psychological methods that comfortably escapes any clauses under the Indian Law.

I read this after I posted this message above. Read more here:

"Of the 700,000 villages across India, only about 65,000 have a Christian church. We believe that every unreached village has the right to a church that proclaims the good news of the gospel until Jesus returns. Our vision is to see a living church planted in every one of the remaining 635,000 villages"

I am wondering. What if these very God's messengers gets beaten up in the village for CONVERTING the villagers? What are the course of events that follow?

** The gang that beat them are Hindu extremists...obviously from RSS, Bhajrang Dal
** The missionaries' religious freedom was thwarted by RSS
** RSS 'falsely' blames these missionaries to have been converting the villagers
** RSS must be banned. The culprits must be jailed.
** The missionarie's work is purely in helping the downtrodden, educating the poor, giving them good pure water, school, clothes, food....!! ...!!!

The local government will only protect Christians. The root cause and facts never ever gets verified.
What a way to escape the law!

Understanding Modern and Abstract art

I hadn't even given a second look at those. It was painful to me to gather up all my intuitions, imaginations, logics to understand the artist's mind. Nothing in the real world I could relate to. I know this is the same for many others. How many times we would have wanted the artist to explain us what he painted?

But thinking of it, if the art was straight forward, a scenery or a building, would we really bother to study more on the painting? I doubt we would. Many a time, I have thought, the artist could rather just take a photograph of what he has painted, from the real world instead of studiously painting it!! Guess it doesn't work that way. There is more to it.

To a person with no artistic intellect, like me, these abstract art would just turn some remote senses wild and restless...... wait.... restless? wild? ....yeah sometimes ... indifferent too... or may sometimes mind goes blank unable to understand what my eyes are looking at ...makes me feel stupid..."Why am I wasting time trying to figure out what's in it?"

I didn't, till now, know that these arts were meant to make us feel that way!!!!!!! Trying to touch our unknown senses. Not till we try to recognize that feeling and decipher it gradually. Takes time heh? It sure does. Let it. If not, why would the artist spend maybe weeks together to paint such a painting?

Read this info from one such artist, Lynne Taetzsch, who can tell us how to look at an Abstract Art. Its definitely worth a peek at Lynne's art Blog.

Our most beloved former President of India Dr. Abdul Kalam has his personal website! He announced this on Times Now Talk show.

A way to interact with him directly...He is known to meticulously respond to all valuable emails, especially from the children.

Probably the most talked about and most respected President of India for all these years.

I wish him long and healthy life.

ONLY the aftermath of Godhra....

The Indian citizens are supposed to know ONLY the aftermath of Godhra incidence of burning 1000s of children and women pilgrims.

You are NOT supposed to question anything about the people who burnt the train!!

You must NOT bother about who were behind the burning!

What happened to the culprits? DO NOT ASK

Are you done? Ok. Go and read ONLY about what happened next.

Even if YOU were a victim in this carnage, if your brother or sister or daughter got burnt in the train, do not get enraged. Be calm. Take it cool. Because the killers are noble people! Pardon them.

But DO NOT dare to ask justice!

Let the killers live in peace for Peace Be With Allah!

This link is added here on Nov 12, 2007
CPM General Secretary Prakash Karat explains "What really happened in Nandigram"!!
He cleverly tries to insulates his government's (mis)rule from the incident. But his party has never allowed BJP or Sangh or even the Courts to explain the Godhra. They never even tried to get CBI to inquire about the actual culprits. Lots has been blamed on Sangh Parivar, before the verdict.

Even the biased BBC reports "The train was allegedly attacked by a Muslim mob in Godhra, killing 58 Hindu pilgrims returning from Ayodhya." Simply because that IS the fact.

The gossips and stories (mind you, not the FACTS) goes on to say that some "VHP" or "Bhajrang dal" volunteers were not ready to pay at a railway station tea stall which resulted in argument and calling names and soon the volunteers started shouting slogans against muslims. That enraged muslims who quickly organised at the next station and burnt two bogies.

But its perfectly alright for muslims to take law into their hands against "abuse" by the hindus. They are within their Shariat Law to BURN unarmed, innocent Hindus. Even the Law of the Land should excuse their crime.

Today NO ONE questions Muslim culprits. People who ask for heads of Sangh Parivar over this issue is NOT asking Modi to probe into the root cause of the violence. Center does not bother to hold a CBI enquiry into where it all started. Some years ago, what was made to believe by all news media about hate crime abetted by "sangh parivar" in South India, was later traced by police to an Islamic student outfit called "Anjuman" (linked from a Muslim webpage.) Have you heard about them again? They are cleverly protected by the same media. No one bothered to confess and ask Sangh to pardon them for wrongly abusing RSS and the outfits for no crime of theirs. DO NOT try to remember this because you are NOT supposed to talk good about RSS.

SIMPLY BECAUSE EVEN THE LAW OF INDIA IS AFRAID OF MUSLIMS
God Save India. But I do hope that ONLY truth prevails.

Center seeks RSS intervention (help)

Times Now reported on the TV and its internet version that "Centre seeks RSS help." But the way such news gets reported is to be observed...(this is from the internet version dated 2nd Nov 2007 6:24:46 PM)

"TIMES NOW has accessed a letter written by a senior Archaeological Survey of India official to RSS national President K S Sudarshan calling upon him to put a stop to illegal mining activity in a few districts of Madhya Pradesh."

Doesn't it sound like ASI thinks RSS is involved in someway with the illegal mining activity? Watch the words the media uses.... and the ignorants always see what they like to see.

On the TV they clearly reported as "Centre seeks RSS help...to intervene in stopping illegal mining activity....". ASI has sought help from RSS. But the news as reported can create wrong information to a careless reader.

This is not one piece of article, you get to read it everyday on everything RSS or the Sangh parivar does. So, if you are NOT part of sangh in anyway, I suggest you should know Sangh from inside not from the sections of communist leanings.

RSS is the only organisation which knows nothing about Castes. I have been associated with RSS activies since my childhood days (though I have lost touch with them now) but growing up with hundreds of swayamsevaks of all ages, none of us ever talked about castes or subcastes, untouchables, low of other religions.....or anything that the outside world imagines RSS to be. I have seen Pracharaks visiting villages of all sorts of people and sharing food with them. When there is a RSS gathering in lakhs, no one ever bothers to know what part of Hindu society one is from. We only know we are children of this great motherland, we love our people whoever it is.

Narendra Modi's Charisma

First, listen to his speech convened by Hindustan Times (not a Sangh/BJP supporter) and initiated by none other than the hardcore sangh parivar hater Rajdeep Sardesai.

I am personally very inspired by the nature of speech Modi has delivered in this context. A Manmohan or Sonia can never talk from the heart, bundled with the true patriotism, after all, MM speeches are written by Sonia and Sonia's speeches translated to Italian from Hindi by unknown 100s.

I didn't want to be blind to whatever Modi says, so I did research on all claims he makes in the speech. Hence for a good value reading, I tried to attach links to the facts alongwith. For all the skeptics, I have made sure the source of information does not belong to Sangh Parivar.

Why are we proud of ......

...achievements of Indians outside India?

Last night I watched the news clipping on Piyush “Bobby” Jindal becoming of Governor of Louisiana, USA. His cousins and relatives were extremely happy...they danced crazily in their house in India. Everyone of them exclaimed that he makes Indians proud!!! I always wonder how these people really do that!!???

I read more of him on the internet. I find...

His article in a Catholics web issue
Piyush "Bobby" Jindal Religious lies
He being attached in a TV interview

How Indian is he? What is his lifetime contribution to India or Indians? How much does he know indepth of his own State in India as much he knows about Louisiana, accepted that he was born there. But him becoming a Governor of a State in the US makes Indians proud????

I am equally surprised at how Kalpana Chawla or Sunita Lyn Williams are anyway Indians at heart? Sunita had hardly visited India in her lifetime, Kalpana did only once or twice. We are proud of these????

I feel we are being enSlaved into the concept that anything the Americas, British or Europeans do are the ultimates. To them India doesnt even exist. To us they are the "Big Brother"s! We look up to them always. They set our standards of life, standards of educations, standards of technologies, standards of qualities....what not! Wonder what are we Indians upto? People like Lakshmi Mittal can come together and develop an entire village to what no other part of world has ever tried. In a way this threatens the Indian government to make them realize what they havent attempted so far. There are millions in the US who can come together to a great cause helping out India. There has been times during Kargil war and natural disasters in Gujrath and Orissa when Indians living outside India contributed a huge sum. India needs more than just money too.

I wish we stop admiring everything about what an Indian does in the US. Lets look at what our guys can do within India that includes me ofcourse) and give them all kinds of support.

[Oct 28, 11:30pm - Rama Iyer gave me this link to a lengthy explanation of Shashi Tharoor, on the same topic of Indians feeling proud of Bobby. You really gotto read it. I am glad I am not one of the few who think like this]

Helping the destitutes ....

I just watched this news about a noble heart in Madurai on a TV channel. Quickly I wanted to put the information over here.

He is a food provider, N. Krishnan, a graduate in Hotel Management and Catering Science, who has taken upon himself the mission of feeding abandoned people - mentally unstable ones and destitutes.

We have such people doing great service to mankind and animals, behind the scene. But services like that of Krishnan should be made known to the world simply because they awaken our sleeping minds into the realities.

Great work Krishnan :)

Into the Black Hole somewhere in India there goes .....

"India tops in remittances from migrants

WASHINGTON: With Indians at the top, migrants working in industrialised countries sent home more than $300 billion in 2006, nearly three times the $104 billion given in foreign aid to developing countries.

India with $24.5 billion took in more remittance than any other nation. It was followed by Mexico ($24.2 billion), China ($21 billion), the Philippines ($14.6 billion) and Russia ($13.7 billion), according to a new UN study." says DNA

Ok!!!! Great!! But where the hell is all these money? Locked up with individuals? RBI? Laaloo? or Sonia's family trust? or to some religion funding? arrey obviously every million would show up somewhere if it was really used for good of the country....

Filth with Flowers

Every year on the Indian Independence day (Aug 15,) the horticultural department of Karnataka organises mammoth flower and plants exhibition in Lalbagh. This year, I reluctantly went with my family as I knew it wouldnt be easy to get in and come out.

Such a lovely garden turns into dustbin in just two or three days of this show. How much ever the department and security tries to control the crowd. Its the people's mindset that goes on rampage and has absolutely no care for the nature. But ironically they all come to watch the beautiful nature!

I was more concerned with the destructions of this place and captured some of the pathetic state in the garden. There are other links I am providing here where you actually get to see the wonders of creation through other lenses.

Your children crib no more...here is why ...

[The priorities of Indian youth - work, good career and a position with high status. They are the world's happiest lot with career being their top priority. Young middle-class Indians are the happiest people of all and much more satisfied with all aspects of their lives compared to other nationalities.

This was revealed by a new global survey carried out by Swedish research and consulting firm Kairos Future.

Luring a Hindu to be a Christian.....use your logic from this..

I would love to comment against most of the points mentioned below (excerpts from Page.) But I will keep it to later time. I consider this is definitely an interesting information for all intellectuals. Please read on... -

"Christianity should be considered for its historical viability. Christianity has historically rooted characters and events within its schema which are identifiable through forensic sciences like archeology and textual criticism. Hinduism certainly has a history, but its theology, mythology, and history are so often blurred together that it becomes difficult to identify where one stops and the other begins."

"Hinduism has a certain flexibility and adaptability through its historical ambiguity. But, where a religion is not historical, it is that much less testable. It may not be falsifiable at that point, but neither is it verifiable."

"If Adam and Eve did not exist, if Israel did not have an exodus out of Egypt, if Jonah was just an allegory, or if Jesus did not walk the earth then the entire Christian religion can potentially crumble at those points. For Christianity, a fallacious history would mean a porous theology. Such historical rootedness could be a weakness of Christianity except that the historically testable parts of the Christian tradition are so often validated that the weakness becomes a strength."

"Hinduism has its share of wise teachers and earthly leaders. But Jesus stands out. His spiritual teachings are confirmed with a test that only divine power could pass, death and bodily resurrection—a fact which he prophesied and fulfilled in Himself"

"Third, the Christian Scriptures are historically outstanding, deserving serious consideration. In several tests the Bible surpasses the Hindu Vedas, and all other books of antiquity for that matter. One could even say that the history of the Bible is so compelling that to doubt the Bible is to doubt history itself, since it is the most historically verifiable book of all antiquity. The only book more historically verifiable than the Old Testament (the Hebrew Bible) is the New Testament."

"Good for one god would not necessarily be "good" in an objective and universal sense. For example, sacrificing one's child to Kali would be commendable to one stream of Hinduism but reprehensible to many others. But surely, child sacrifice, as such, is objectionable regardless. Some things by all reason and appearance are right or wrong, regardless."

"the question remains 'What do you do with your sin?' Christianity has the strongest answer to this problem. Hinduism, like Buddhism, has at least two ideas of sin. Sin is sometimes understood as ignorance. It is sinful if one does not see or understanding reality as Hinduism defines it.......... Can atonement come by prayer or devotion to a Shiva or Vishnu? Even if those characters offer forgiveness it seems like sin would still be an unpaid debt. They would forgive sin as if it is excusable, no big deal, and then wave people on through the gates of bliss...........
Christianity however treats sin as moral error against a single, ultimate, and personal God. Ever since Adam, humans have been sinful creatures. Sin is real. And it sets an infinite gap between man and bliss. Sin demands justice."

"Finally, in Christianity we can know that we are saved. We do not have to rely on some fleeting experience, nor do we rely on our own good-works or fervent meditation, nor do we put our faith in a false God whom we are trying to 'believe-into-existence.' We have a living and true God, a historically anchored faith, an abiding and testable revelation of God (Scripture), a theologically satisfying basis for ethical living, and a guaranteed home in heaven with God.

So, what does this mean for you? Jesus is the ultimate reality! Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for our sins."

Here is the most interesting endnote:

"
If you want to receive Jesus as your Savior, simply speak to God, verbally or silently, and tell Him that you receive the gift of salvation through Jesus. If you want a prayer to say, here is an example: “God, thank you for your love for me. Thank you for sacrificing yourself for me. Thank you for providing for my forgiveness and salvation. I accept the gift of salvation through Jesus. I receive Jesus as my Savior. Amen!”

Indian Music and Critical Thought

"I have been studying music since I was young. I played trumpet, both classical and jazz, as well as medieval and renaissance wind instruments such as the cornetto, krumhorn, and recorder. I took years classes of at the Juilliard conservatory before going to college, where I got a BA in music. Yet, I always felt there was something missing in my music education"

".... -- shouldn't I have all the critical thinking tools I needed to understand any piece of music? I went into the music library for some deeper explorations, and there, listening to Indian and Javanese musics, I sat dumbfounded, realizing, after so many years of study, just how far from having those tools I was."

"Through my study of Indian music, which will surely take me the rest of my life, I am truly beginning to feel as though I understand music, one of my great loves"

Understanding Indian music from a non Indian is to Introspect our values. Its like someone pointing at how valuable we are. The above is what a Jazz/Western musician says about his experience in transformation into Indian Music (Hindustani.) Great reading. Visit the page HERE

Infants' Intelligence....!!!

Infants Have 'Amazing Capabilities' That Adults Lack

Babies might seem a bit dim in their first six months of life, but researchers are getting smarter about what babies know, and the results are surprising.

The word "infant" comes from the Latin, meaning "unable to speak," but babies are building the foundations for babbling and language before they are born, responding to muffled sounds that travel through amniotic fluid.

Soon after birth, infants are keen and sophisticated generalists, capable of seeing details in the world that are visible to some other animals but invisible to adults, older children and even slightly older infants.

Recently, scientists have learned the following:

At a few days old, infants can pick out their native tongue from a foreign one.
At 4 or 5 months, infants can lip read, matching faces on silent videos to "ee" and "ah" sounds.
Infants can recognize the consonants and vowels of all languages on Earth, and they can hear the difference between foreign language sounds that elude most adults.
Infants in their first six months can tell the difference between two monkey faces that an older person would say are identical, and they can match calls that monkeys make with pictures of their faces.
Infants are rhythm experts, capable of differentiating between the beats of their culture and another.

The latest finding, presented in the May 25 issue of the journal Science, is that infants just 4 months old can tell whether someone is speaking in their native tongue or not without any sound, just by watching a silent movie of their speech. This ability disappears by the age of 8 months, however, unless the child grows up in a bilingual environment and therefore needs to use the skill.

In fact, all the skills outlined above decline somewhere around the time infants pass the 6-month mark and learn to ignore information that bears little on their immediate environment.
